Here are my thoughts as of the end of Sunday, September 9, in regards to the NFL.
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens put on an absolute beat down of the Miami Dolphins, to the point some Dolphins players reportedly contacting their agents and asking to get them out of there. Final score: 59-10.
Patrick Mahomes had an injury scare as he limped around a bit with a potentially sprained ankle, Tyreek Hill got injured, and Sammy Watkins had the game of his career as the KC Chiefs looked really good form against the Jaguars. Who lost Nick Foles to injury, and was replaced by the surprisingly solid rookie Gardner Minshew. Final Score: 40-26
The much hyped Browns got eviscerated by the Titans when it became apparent early on that the Browns forgot one of the key pieces to a good team: an Offensive Line. The Titans defense took full advantage of this fact and left a humiliated Browns looking like… well, the Browns. Final Score: 43-13
The Patriots did the Patriots thing and murdered the Steelers at home and looked in fine form while doing it. The future addition of Antonio Brown is likely to be overkill. The best moment of the game was this penalty. Final Score: 33-3
Dak Prescott looked incredible vs the Giants. The Cowboys as a whole looked in fine shape for the season. The Giants on the other hand… They looked strong to start out but fizzled away as the game wore on. Final Score: 35-17
The Lions and the Cardinals tied their game thanks to a Cardinals offense that finally got going way too late in the game. Didn’t see much of that game so that’s all I gotta say about that. Final Score: 27-27
The first half was all Washington Redskins in their game vs the Eagles. And it started with my highlight of the week: Vernon Davis hurdling a guy, shaking a tackle and somehow staying on his feet for a touchdown. Even the commentators got juked on that play. Unfortunately for the Redskins, Carson Wentz managed to turn things around in the second half, and pulled out a victory for the Eagles. Final Score: 32-27
Buffalo Bills managed to barely squeak out a win vs the NY Jets. Josh Allen giving up some major turnovers, but the Jets just couldn’t capitalize like they needed to. Final Score: 17-16
Oh yeah, the Green Bay Packers played the Chicago Bears in a defensive slugfest to start the season last Thursday. I really think the bears should have played Mitch Trubisky during the preseason, to work out the kinks in their offense. It took a bit for Aaron Rodgers to get warmed up as well. The Packers pulled out the win. Final Score: 10-3
Any game not mentioned here either hasn’t happened yet, or I didn’t care enough to keep track of what was going on. What, there was a lot of football being played and I can’t be expected to keep track of everything.
